Building Institutions for Resilient Communities, Thiruvalla, Kerala.
This was a follow up to the work Manuski is doing the with organisation, RIGHTS, based in Kerala, and following up the terrible floods, amongst the most marginalised and discriminated. They tend to live more in the most problematic areas which suffer quickly in any natural calamity. Just going back to where they were before is not a solution. Hence the effort to build more resilient institutions amongst the most social deprived.
30 people and 8 organisations were represented in the meeting. Millions of Rupees was and is available for relief, rehabilitation and re- building , but the unprivileged hardly see any of it as there are no any systems prevailing to access the funds. This work is trying to change this situation.
