NGO Management Workshop

14th – 17th  May 2018

This workshop for 10 alumni looked at the how to start an NGO and the questions that go with that, such as:

  1. How to run it effectively?
  2. How to ensure society participation?
  3. How to  work for the upliftment of the most discriminated.
  4. How to increase awareness, deal with atrocities, and human rights issues.
  5. Funding for the activities, to write project proposals

Five Buddhist principles helpful in running NGOs were discussed:

  1. Define the goal;
  2. Follow the principle of cause and effect;
  3. Compassion- solve problems of those in need;
  4. Impermanence –  adapting to the changing world;
  5. Ethics – respect yourself, your team and the beneficiaries .
