A training camp was organised on Prevention of Atrocities Act on 3rd October 2021 by CARVA (Campaign Advocating Rights of Victims of Atrocities), Maharashtra at Manuski Centre, Pune. DALIT HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS (DHRDs) from all over Maharashtra participated in training including lawyers, victims and human rights defenders.
Starting at 11 in the morning and covering mainly section 3 of the PoA it went on till 6 pm in the evening. The notes were provided to all participants which included section three of the act and relevant provisions of IPC, notes on registering FIR under PoA, important government circulars on registration of FIR and investigation etc. Total 44 DHRDs participated in training including 4 women participants. Adv. Ambadas Bansode conducted the training and Mr. Rajratan Shakya hosted the program. The inaugural speech was delivered by Mr. Bhanu Bauddh, Director, Manuski and keynote address was delivered by Mr. Machindra Gawale, State Director, CARVA and District President, Nanded District, Manav Adhikar Andolan.
Various organisations including Jambudvipa trust, Panchsheel Trust, Buddhist Federation financially supported the training along with other individual donors. Activists from Voices for Peace, CDSJS, Rashtriya Bahujan Sangh, Republican Matang Sena and many other organisations benefited from the training.
