This book is an outcome of research carried out by Dalit women activists of the National Council of Women Leaders (NCWL), with a focus on 13 Indian states where they have been handling cases of caste-based sexual violence for several years. It demonstrates how caste-based sexual violence becomes a tool to deny Dalit women their rights to education and safe livelihoods, access to quality health care and basic services.
